Insulation Removal & R-30 Blow-In in Fort Lauderdale FL 33309 – May 5 2026
In May 2026 our team completed an attic insulation project for a homeowner in the Fort Lauderdale area. The homeowner had noticed that certain rooms in the house were becoming difficult to keep cool, especially during the hottest parts of the day. After inspecting the attic, we found that the existing insulation had settled over time and was no longer providing consistent coverage throughout the space.
🔍Before We Started
Like many older homes in South Florida, the attic contained aging insulation that had become compressed and uneven. In several areas, coverage was noticeably thinner than recommended, leaving parts of the attic exposed to excessive heat buildup.
The homeowner wanted to improve the overall condition of the attic and upgrade the insulation before the summer season.
🧹Preparing the Attic
Before installing the new insulation, we first removed the old material and cleaned the attic space. During the preparation process, we also insulated and sealed a newly installed exhaust duct to ensure a proper fit and help prevent loose insulation from entering areas where it doesn’t belong.

Our Solution
After removing the existing insulation and cleaning the attic space, our team prepared the area for the new installation.
As part of the project, a newly installed exhaust duct was properly sealed and insulated to help prevent insulation intrusion and ensure a secure, finished connection within the attic. Taking care of these details before installation helps create a cleaner and more professional final result.
Once the preparation work was completed, we installed a fresh layer of R-30 blown-in insulation throughout the attic to provide consistent coverage across the entire space.
Blown-in insulation is an excellent option for attics because it helps fill gaps and provides consistent coverage across large open areas.
🔧Exhaust Duct Sealing/Insulation
As part of this project, we sealed visible air gaps around HVAC components and attic penetrations before installing the new insulation. This additional step helps reduce unwanted airflow between the attic and conditioned living areas, allowing the insulation system to perform more effectively.
The Finished Result
After the cleaning was completed, the attic had a clean, even layer of R-30 insulation throughout the space. The new insulation provides better overall coverage and helps support improved energy efficiency and indoor comfort year-round.
